Landy has one on his CVX-182. You saw it at the CA-AVE last month. I'm very impressed with this motor. Good power, and quiet. Maybe he'll see this and give you some more info, as I've only been in it about 7 times.
Good luck finding one. I hear they're hard to come by right now. Merc uses the same powerhead. Also a little hard to come by. I know my dealer had three of them last week.

At the Cave, Jason Long, myself, and Cisco Kid all had Yamaha 4 strokes.
The 115's are fuel injected. They are quiet,very fuel efficient (7-8 mpg),easy starting,and as fast as their 2 stroke counterparts.
I have had mine 1 year and run it alot without any problems.I have 5 years left on my factory warranty.
I know Cisco Kid was having starting problems with his 100 HP 4 stroke which isn't fuel injected.
I would recommend the 115 4 stroke motor to anyone. I can't wait until they expand the 4 stroke line up to include the larger horsepower motors.

| TECK, I'd give you some feedback on how I like my Yamy 115 4-stroke... but the only time I have run it was at Cave Run. Starts like a car (fuel injection is nice) even when air temps are in the teens. Cooling Water line froze (unless there is a thermostat?) but the performance was very pleasing. Lots of power to get your rig up and running, but not real aggressive with turning RPM's and obtaining top end speed. If you are not in a race, I see no reason to NOT buy the Yamy 115 4-stroke. Hopefully I'm still saying that at the end of the season. |

| I think the freezing line was only the tattle tail. The motors were tilted up at the launch for the drive back to Tony's, and were not left down to drain completely. A little water was left in the tattle hose, and froze over night. Landy's did the same thing. Started it up in the morning, and no pisser. Let the motor idle, and it thawed and started pissing within a few minutes. Jason, did yours eventually thaw?
Not a big deal. Wouldn't stop me from buying the motor.

| Now it look like its going to be a 90hp Mercury 4-stroke with no EFI . Spending more on the boat so I have less to spend on the motor. [:((] |

| Yes, mine eventually thawed and opened up. It took about 5 minutes or so. I tried blowing the water out of the lower unit after it was on the trailer knowing Cisco Kid had the problem on Friday. Didn't work. Definitely not a problem... but something I noticed that was consistent with the Yamy's at the cave.
Teck, if you can swing the 115 I'd do it. However, my dad runs a 90HP Honda (carbeurated) on his Fishawk and that is a nice motor too. I'm sure you will be happy with whatever you end up with. Everyone is making a nice motor these days. |
