Heading up to Sabaskong Bay with Muskies Inc. boys. Has anyone been up there lately and can you give me any advice? Baits, colors, depths, etc.?

I'm actually a resort owner up here, and it seems the most action has been on cowgirls or old faithful... black "giant killer" mephs spinners. Either way, you have to go the inline method. The algea bloom has sprung, and the water clarity is poor (unless you portage to white fish bay).

Here's a link to a very good list of lures to bring.

Good luck!

All the fish I have been contacting have been on bucktails around bare rock, rock shelf, or submerged boulder type structure for over a month. Last year in September, guys had great success early grinding depth raiders over rocks and then mid-month others found a few nice fish around weeds and weed/rock combos with suicks.

Bloom isn't as bad as it usually is and you can find water that is a little less green if you travel a little. Lots of rocks east, west, south, north so there will always be good structure no matter whether you fish Sabaskong, Stevens, Stoney, Miles, Obabikon, the Basil or points further west.

There will be lots of people throwing over the long weekend so check back.

Me and my uncle went up to Sabaskong for 3 1/2 days and covered about every island in the place and tried any thing he had and only boated 1 fish... 31 inch other then that only had 2 other hits (dont know what they were) but there is some good looking spots up there..... good luck!
