anyway ive fished it 2 times and dont have a lot of time to spend there so any advice would be great
also ive seen people say "typical Independence is in full swing right now"
not sure if that is good or bad

Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | Indy is one of the easiest lakes to fish.
1. Launch your boat
2. Drop your trolling motor
3. Start doing laps around the lake casting.
I'm serious, every inch of shoreline on that lake holds fish at one time or another.
Walk the dog baits (gliders and topwater) in white seem to work for me. |

Location: Maple Grove, MN | Bright colored bucktails and spinner baits work well sometimes on Indy too. The fish tend to be up in the water column and you usually can't fish to shallow. Best spots are often where the wind is blowing in. The wind seems to get the fish going at times and Indy never gets very rough compared to a larger lake like Waconia.
The best boat color for Indy seems to be slime green. Otherwise, be prepared to wash your boat off afterwards.

| If you're fishing in water more than 3 feet deep, you're fishing too deep this time of year. |
