| I believe you should hold a muskie with good support under his belly. A frim grasp under the jaw and support under the belly is much easier on the fish. Vertical holds tend to put more pressure on the fish and you have little control. The fish can flop out of your hands with ease.
Try to keep the fish horizontal this season.. Mr.Muskie will like that, and hopefully will come back.[] |

| I have the same belief you do when it comes to fish holds. I was really desapointed last year when most of the big fish pictures passed around out there were vertical holds. This is the 21st century and people by now should know that vertical holds do not show the actaul size of the fish. I know I cannot convince anyone that it may be hurting the fish but I hope I can convince a few that it isn't a good picture so I can have more big fish pictures to look at. [:sun:]
To bad I can't post picture links here or I would show you. Maybe MuskyJ can do it for me he knows what fish I am talking about. Then we can do a guess what size that fish is. |

| Just because some of us are vertically challenged...does not mean we have to hold our fish that way.[]
Everyone take the time to take care of the fish this next year.[;)] |

| I think the eye's are bulging because you can't see Jason's thumb! [] [] Nice fish Jason- agree 100%. There's really no good reason for a vertical hold, unless you only have one arm.[:0]

| Jason is holding the muskie the appropriate way, besides if he held any muskie larger than 28" vertically, the tail would be rubbing on the boat deck! LOL!.....just kidding........a little. |
