Posts: 469 Location: Downers Grove, IL | Welp....It might be a wrap for me. Drove through a blizzard with Snowmoblies passing me on the side of the road in about 8 inches of snow.. Broke Ice for about a mile and scored a well deserved 39 incher that gave me a second chance on a sucker. The reels and rods froze, the boat got stuck on the trailer, the trolling motor needed some @$$ kickin to get it in the water, and the Yammy ran like a champ. 2005 was a great year. Bring on the shows!!!! thedude Edited by thedude 11/27/2005 8:11 PM Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]() ![]()

Posts: 469 Location: Downers Grove, IL | Thanks guys. Nothing beats the feeling after releasing the last muskie of 2005. In the words of Pink Flyod I felt quite "comfortly numb." We saw only one other fish over the holiday. I was fishing really deep with Fuzzies and suckers the majority of the time. Something new for me this year. The shallows were mostly covered with ice and I hope the muskies were just shut down rather then up in the dead weeds. The only spot that I found ANY baitfish was a neckdown area near the main basin. I called this shoreline the buffet!!!! Man they were just stacked from the bottom in 25 feet all the way up to 15 feet. We slowed trolled Mag Dawgs with rubber-core weights attached clicking the engine in a out of gear. Jigged big joes, fuzzies, bulldawgs, and casted triple d's right over the top of em. My partner was getting a little annoyed with the lack of action, but I just kept telling him that the only thing we could do wrong was to keep our baits outta the water. I was just waiting for Shamoo to come up and t-bone my mag dawg. Next year!! thedude
