| I do a fair amount of trolling and will mix a baits baits made without rattles, Slammers, Grandmas, hex baits etc. with baits like 22 longs. With the exception of a 2 fish day on 22 longs the non- rattle baits seem to prevail.

| I think it comes down to water clarity. Darker water, I would go with rattles,where as clear water I would want a natural pattern with a lot of flash. Kdawg |

Location: Brighton CO. | I have a lot of old original Depth Raiders without rattles and lots of next gen lot of Raiders with rattles but still pre ROI and the ones with rattle catch more fish. |

| Probably catch most on plastic rattlers but there are those special wood lures and non-rattling baits that really shine. |

Location: Brighton CO. | When it comes to lures it can be overkill I would guess we all have more lures then we need with that said we fish different times of year, Lakes and river systems, Spring, Summer and Fall. (and Fall can look like Winter) Clear and dark water and muddy. Do rattles draw strikes or repeal fish? Bucktails and Spinnerbaits, Suick , Bobbie ECT no rattles. Big T and WT. Burt loud rattles. I catch smaller muskies on Suick and Bobbie and no Muskies on Big T and whats been best for me is Wt. Burt. I catch Muskies on both Grandma and Jake and with both rattles and no rattles. Years ago I had a muskie on a clear water lake come out of the bulrushes and hit a M9 Grandma with no rattles from 40 feet. I cut three sets of trebles on that one. |

| I do better on baits with no rattles especially on fish 50" or bigger.
I also prefer wood baits over plastic by far for trolling. The Diesel and Stretch Diesel are big fish slayers.
If water is really dirty, I will use jointed baits

Do you keep all 3 hooks on the Stretch? Seems like a lot of hooks for a 5-6" bait. |
