I made a warranty claim on a LT Long Ranger that broke ant St. Croix agreed to replace the rod. I have the option to upgrade to a Legend Elite for $285. That seems a little steep to me since the brand new Long Ranger is worth $380. Is it worth the price to upgrade?

It wouldn't be to me. I'm happy with my Legend Tournaments.

I had gold put aside for the upgrading my LT sling blade to the LE version, when i picked it up in the store it took me about 15 seconds to make the call of staying with the Sling blade.

I just stayed with the LT. Replacing a $380 rod and then charging $285 to upgrade to a rod that cost like $580 isn't any sort of a deal at all.

I own the big nasty and equivalent LE. Go with the LT.

Location: Pewaukee, WI | Rather then to dump all that money into a rod, consider applying that to up-grading your reel(s). Of the two, the reel(s) would be a far more important item. |
