Posts: 8834 | I'm not very creative, so I only have a couple. Captain Ugly: It's a hodgepodge of colors: One copper blade, one gold blade, brown, silver, green and black in the skirt. Hideous. Hence the ugly part of the name. Captain is because the first time I threw it (After proclaiming I'd never catch a fish on it because even a musky wouldn't eat anything that ugly) I caught a 45, 47 and a couple smaller fish on it in an afternoon. Old faithful: An ancient Gerry's girl that only sees water when we're moving some biggies. The chrome chipped off the blades years ago. The holes on the blades are worn into ovals, and thin enough where they often don't spin right. The next fish might be it's last, so I'm hoping I can retire it on the wall with a replica of the fish that finally does it in. Hairball: My favorite color/blade combination Shumway Flasher. Only lure I carry 2 of. I've gone through a bunch of them, and by the time I need the new one the old one looks like something the cat barfed up. (someone here pointed that out to me and the name stuck) The bastard: It's a small wood pacemaker. Got it's name on the quietest flattest evenings I've ever fished. A fish blew up on it four times in one cast, scaring the crap out of me each time and causing me to exclaim "YOU BASTARD!!" Other funny ones: (not mine) Black Betty. Every time it sees water, everyone in the boat starts singing "Oh black betty, bam buh lam!" Little Black Sambo: No explanation needed Billy Baroo: Last I heard, my buddy had 53 fish on it. Every time he throws it he recreates that scene from Caddyshack. Funny stuff. Made even better by the fact that he usually manages to catch a fish on it.

Posts: 20253 Location: oswego, il | A buddy of mine named a customized 9" grandma gingersnap. Brown over gold foil and a good clear coat. He has netted most of the 33 Muskies I have caught on it.
