Posts: 929 Location: Rhinelander. | The rains came and so did the fish and they came in numbers. Tony and I have had a bad year and went to madison with a game plan, the wrong one to. Although some fish were caught trolling which we did, most seemed to come in under 6 feet of water. Tony and I can't recall the judge boats ever being so busy all over the place. Wherever you looked there seemed to be one on the run. The hot baits were surface lures and spinner baits. Top raiders and Grimm Reaper spinner baits were mentioned alot.. One team caught 2 fish trolling spinner baits over the weed tops. The madison chain really produced for the anglers and many records were broken. Total no. of fish caught, no. of fish caught on the 2nd day, The first team to have 4 fish, and the first time the top ten were all doubles or better. That is producing fish. The top ten anglers accounted for 25 fish caught. As I said Tony and I had a rough year year. Some of that falls on my shoulders as I had no time to really do any prefishing and my mind was in other places. Tony is a great partner and I am certain next year will be better for us If any of you have the chance to fish the madison chain I think you'll enjoy it and the P.M.T.T. events on any water are fun. Enjoyed bringing you the followups and look forward to next year. Congradulations to all those that caught fish and to those going to the invitational. Thank you musky first for the the contest, its fun watching the picks. And yes its true Karen won our small big fish pool, congrats to her as well. Don Pfeiffer | ||

Posts: 233 Location: Des Plaines, IL | It was in the ball park of 17... I got a 41" on Sun!! Team 65 P.S. Congratulations Bill! You and Corbett are in 1st place! I'm looking forward to the Championship in Cass next month....see ya there. P.S. Yes, It's true! I did get the big fish prize(a little "side bet" among a few friends) this time. I figure I have now made back half of what I've put in for the last 2 years. It was a good weekend considering what I did to myself over the course of the week.(the swelling in my ankle has yet to go down and my finger is still pretty messed up)I earned that money and that fish!!
