Looking for input here...Found the boat and it looks very good, but am somewhat concerned about a 60 hp tiller on an almost 18 ft. boat. Will that be enough power? Do any of you have any thoughts or input on this query of mine. Anything would be appreciated. Thanks.

I may have just found my own answer....

But would appreciate any comments you all have, just the same. Thanks.

I have a 91 40hp Johnson on my 91 Tuffy Esox. The boat is 16'9'', and I believe it weighs around 800 + 140 for the motor.

It is plenty powerful for me. Gets up on plane quick enough, and top speed is in the upper 20's.

Depending on the size of waters you fish I would say that's slightly under power. Also depends on how many passengers and how much gear you plan to carry

What does the yellow sticker say max hp is?
I have a 75 on my 1775 pro v tiller.
Max hp allowed is usually best.

Despite the Coast Guard rule, it appears that Lund will place a 90 HP Yamaha on there...I'm confused.

That is weird.
Lund specs for that year boat are 75 for tiller and 90 for console.
