Location: Chippewa Falls, WI | I'm looking at raising the drivers seat in my '06 ranger reata. It sits pretty low much like a bass boat and I'd like to have my feet more below my knees rather than out in front. Anyone have experience with this? I don't want to raise it more than a few inches to keep my head/face below the top of the full windshield. I asked the ranger dealer but they wouldn't for safety reasons. |

Yes, this is what I did, as I hated how low the seats on my 2002 617 were. I took out the Garelick base / pedestal, and put in a new base that goes with my smooth moves. Been good to go ever since.

While it might not be the best option, how would a simple spacer work, screwed into the pedestal and also up into your seat? Easy to make...from treated lumber and you could make the lower portion small enough so as not be obtrusive??

Location: Contrarian Island | did the same thing w my seat in a ranger 690...just took some treated 2 x 4s into 2 pieces say an inch longer than the space between the bolts, marked where the holes were on each piece, drilled and just put them between the seat and pedestal base and just got some longer bolts...pretty simple fix to raise it up a little
