Location: Kodiak, AK | Not sure what color this is, but it's a combination of my favorites- black, orange and chartreuse. It's not fire tiger, it's not a perch...it just reminded me of something "punk" with dyed hair or something. I dunno...just like the color combo.

Location: Minnesota. | Cool fly. Hope you tied her on a good hook? I like the 600 SP's or anything Gamakatsu.
But I have "trouble" with top-waters...:-)) It's that take!!

Thanks. I tie on a few different hooks, but 95% of my tying is on Gamakatsu. Sometimes big Octopus or Finesse, but most often an SC or SL model. Finesse is my favorite stinger on larger flies. You start getting into 6/0 hooks and quality is usually already there unless you're trying to find a cheap hook. |

Location: Smith Creek | Very nice. It's a few strands of black away from the #1 producing fly in my box. You ever hang rattles on the hook? Think they make a difference other than weight? |

They add extra time to the tying process of course, but especially if I'm tying a dirty water or night fly, I think a rattle can help as much as the big profile we all try to achieve. I certainly don't think it hurts. And weight is minima when it gets to flies this big. |
