Another Metro Angler (North) that loves to toss a fly on occasion.

That's a nice Perch pattern!

On those tough bites and on pressured waters, these flies are a day saver.

Either fish them on a heavy Fly Rod or I use a Heavy Spinnig Rig.

Not sure exactly. I only got a couple of days out last fall (I moved in in August). Had some sniffs and nips. More, including fish in the boat, on the big Dahlberg and on another of those Buffies in a crappie sort of pattern, and on a slimmer longer black creation, back home in VA. I know that the stripers on Cape Cod like this fly.

Absolutely! Saturday the obsession begins again for the year.
On these heavily fished waters it is a different look. I find flies
frequently save the day.

Nice pattern! We all tie too many flies and they do not get used up
unless you get bit by alot of pike. Hope to see you on the water.

I'd imagine they'd be "Killer" in the spring on shallow trophy pike. I saw a "fly guy" chasing big pike in just those conditions and he could take a lazy follower, lift the fly out and roll it back over the top of her and WOW! She couldn't resist! As I said before..."Very cool!"

perhaps a stupid question, but do you use actual fly rods for musky flies?
