Location: Green Bay, WI | What are you guys using for batteries these days? Any testimonials, or can I just run over to Fleet Farm and pickup a couple of marine deep cycle power sources.
The batteries I have right now are giving me about 3-4 hours of trolling time (on and off the pedal). Doesn't sound right to me. I should get more out of them than that. This will be my third year with the boat, and prior to that I know the batteries were not replaced for a number of years. I'm guessing it's just time.
Thoughts or Suggestions??

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I am using Northern brand, their most expensive models. I have a 36 volt trolling motor this year, so I expect a longer running time. Last year with my 24 volt, I got about 21/2 days out of a charge. Your batteries are indeed toast if they are charging fully and only giving you 4 hours. |

Location: Minneapolis, MN | I'm running Trojans and they are awesome! Take a look at the reserve capacity on Trojans vs others. I think my Trojans were nearly 50% higher reserve capacity over the Interstates. There are two different sizes, Group 27's with a 200 min reserve capacity and the larger SC225's which have a 225 min reserve capacity.

Location: Germantown,wi | I am on my second year using Batteries Plus batteries. So far they work great. I can easily run the trolling motor for a three day weekend on a full charge. I have a Minn Kota auto pilot on my Lund 1775 Pro-V so there is a load being put on the motor. I bought the biggest battery they had for about $70 and I couldn't be happier with them. |

I went out this weekend and by hour 6 had about 40-50 percent battery life left. Think I'll pickup a couple new batteries and see where I'm at with it. I agree, they appear to be toast at this time.
