I'd give it a few more years.

I think the first stocking was in 2009. Historically I am sure muskies have roamed there as the Mississippi runs through it. Like stated above she may not quite be ready yet but it is a lake I am very excited for.

The real deal with Pokegama is that it was stocked in 08 with less than 2000 fingerlings, then the same in 2010, and again in 2012. Since there was so much complaining about it, they decided to stop stocking and call it a low density population lake. Basically, in most muskie fisherman's minds, this is not enough fish to get the lake started and continue a real population of muskies. Sure you can go there and fish for a trophy maybe in 5 to 10 years from now, but it will not be what people are hoping for. As of now, the fish are still small. You hear of a couple low 40 inch fish being caught by walleye fisherman, or spear fisherman seeing them (and poking a few). And, yes muskies sometimes roam in there from the river but very few.

Actually I was wrong. They are planning to stock a couple more times.

And they put some adults in back in '08. Not necessarily a great fishable population yet but there are some decent fish in there.
