Does any one know how much it costs to stock a yearling muskie? How about a fingerling?

Our club raises fingerlings in a pond in spring and releases them in october and in the end it runs us about $5.00 each and at that point they are usually 10"-14".This can vary some year to year though. Handy

Thanks guys. Yes I was wondering what the cost was per muskie. I am also wondering if it is possible to tag the fish when they are this young or how old they have to be in oder to tag them. Anyone know?

Hi,

Will a fin clip work? If you dump some fish in a lake and just want to monitor growth that is probably the best way to do it. I would think a tag would be bad for the bigger fish that will end up eating the litte guys.

You can clip the left or right anal fin...but you have to clip it close. Does not hurt the fish at all and you will just see a stump there when they are bigger. Right now there are some low fortys fish swimming around Pewaukee lake with left anal fins gone. Those were stocked in 1995 or 1996 I believe.
