I have the same problem. Get a new pedal or ipilot with the remote.

on the powerdrive models, the contacts wear out, the are fairly cheap inside, you can shim the contact which i did and got 1 more year out of it or as weevil said buy a new pedal

My pedal did exactly the same thing. It was due to the plastic being stripped out where the screws with the springs fastened. Needed a new base. Sent it away and had it repaired for $55.

Same problem. I found it happened more when the pedal was warmer during hot days or in the sun. Replaced the pedal and no issues since. Still have the old one as backup.

One of my fishing buds told to store the pedal whenever it is not in use... He seems to think they are susceptible to problems if you leave them exposed to the elements for prolonged periods of time. I leave mine in dry storage after each use...no issues yet.

I agree with your fishing bud. Even when trailering your boat stuff that thing in a compartment. All sorts of dust and other junk could fly around and find it's way into those things. Better to be proactive and prevent the need to be reactive when you are stuck with a bum pedal.
