Any information is appreciated this or other small muskie lakes are appreciated.

We mainly fish wingra (when temps allow us to do so that is >:( -- A friend and I are looking to expand our horizons and try a different lake. We are limited as to which lake we can fish because his boat is only a 14' Flat bottom jon boat. Weve been on wingra in 30+mph gusts and it did just fine, annoying, but fine. We got brave and tried waubesa and winds kicked up and scared the hell out of us. We were smart enough to stick close to shore but still it was not fun. This was all back in may but we would like to try another small lake so twin valley seems like the next closest muskie lake.

Are there any other lakes within an hour of madison worth trying in a small boat?? Are there any special regs on twin valley?? i heard electric only. thanks in advance.

Funny how that works. thanks the info, we would take the main motor off anyway. We do it to conserve weight when we fish wingra. Is it really 30' deep?? wingra is apparentlys 21 and ive NEVER seen that on the depthfinder.

Twin Valley is fairly deep and has some steep breaks. Certain times of the yr it is a good action lake. Another option is Silver Lake in Portage. It's only like 75 acres, but it does get to like 40 feet deep in one area. There's a smaller pop. of fish there though.

Wisconsin River! best bet by far from your lake choices if you want a quality fish!

Anywhere or are there specific areas we should target?? I am not familiar with the river at all as far as launches or towns near it. Im not an idiot though im sure i can find a spot to put in at. Just a starting point would be nice.

try the area around Sauk Prairie. Put in at the vfw and start at the dam. muskies are there all year.
