I have a 2003 ranger 619 and the auto bilge was disabled when i bought it because the bilge is "stuck on". I wondered if anyone had suggestions before I start troubleshooting it to point me in the right direction. Here's a link to what the bilge looks like.

I appreciate any suggestions!

If it is hot all the time, maybe the switch is acting up and not opening the connection when turned off. I'd see if you could follow the wiring back and make sure it is run thru the switch first, then clean up the switch or change it out.

The float is probably stuck.

No float in that pump, it has a sensor that turns the pump on when water enters the housing. If that is shot, you are probably better off replacing the pump...unless it's wired to run all the time (bypass the sensor) with the switch on and auto sensor mode when off, which can be done with some pumps. To be sure, check if there's power to the pump when the switch is off.

Thanks for the suggestions guys...I was focused on the bilge, but will test to see if its the sensor or the switch!

If it's been working since 2003, that's a long time.

Go the local marine shop and get a new one. Easy to install.

I have a 2008 ranger. Mine has been replaced already. Most pumps will fail at some point. The internal float is not working correctly so replace the pump. Mine had a Rule pump,Cabelas has it for about $50.00.
