i was looking to build some 1oz spinner baits for musky fishing. what side blades would you all use for these..i was planning on getting the 1oz jobbers from lurepartsonline.

I assume we are talking about Colorado blades. If you are going to buy 1oz heads from LPO, make sure they are made on .045 wire  form which is too light for bigger blades and I think # 7 & #5 will be too much for .045
For single blade 1oz spinnerbait( .051 wire)  I use Colorado #6.
Another thing to consider: Blades sizes are not the same from different manufacturers.

I was thinking the fluted willow blades they have would be nice. Also any suggestion for skirting I paint and have never built spinners

I have used #6 willow with great results. In addition, they sell "magnum 7" silicone skirts" that work very well. Plenty long to incorporate a trailer hook. I have also tied marabou and flashabou to these as well. Good Luck
