Location: SE, WI. | I make my own custom buzzbaits. Any skirting will work, tinsel, silicone, Hair, or any combo's. I would think tinsel would be a problem getting tangled in the blades. Must keep the tinsel a bit shorter, or blades a distance from tinsel. I think though; the key is the combination of sound from blades, and the ease of retrieve, working the buzz bait at a slower rate of speed, and keeping lure in the water for as long as possible...:-O |

Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | I tied some flashabou on a couple and unless you tie it short it's going to get tangled. As much as I love the stuff it really isn't the ticket for buzzbaits in my experience. |

Location: NorthCentral WI | IMO buzzbaits are a lost presentation. I'll admit I've got a couple myself that have not seen water in a few years. Do you guys really like them and when do you find yourself throwing them? Why would you choose a buzzbait over a spinnerbait if fishing slop conditions? |

| I'm not a fan of buzzbaits myself. I prefer a topwater I can slow down, speed up, or stop if I see a fish...or if I need to scratch my @$$. |

Other than incorporating some surface sonics Verses underwater blade sounds. Of course you could gurgle some spinnerbait blades as well. Probably different surface sounds is the only difference. Now; Most of my buzzbaits have a wood body between the blades, + treble hooks. Guess you could call them baits like the topper stopper, not real versitile in the slop, but a type of buzzbait non the less, + easier to keep on the surface, + longer casts. Some of my biggest fish have been caught on surface buzzbaits.I guess when you use the term buzzbaits, most people think of slop up to surface, single hooks riding up, with skirts, on a spinnerbait head. |
