| Hey guys I was wondering if you could help me out. I am planning a one week stay on Leech Lake, but I have never stayed on the lake before. I used to fish portage bay quite a bit, but I am hoping to learn more of the lake this trip. I have 3 boys coming up from ages 3-6 so a place that caters to children a little would be great. Any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks for your help. |

Location: Wayzata, MN | Slammer - I've always stayed at Huddles Resort. It's about 10 miles east of Walker on the South Side of the lake - easy access to all the good musky fishing spots. Roy and Kay are top notch people, and they have tons of stuff for kids to do. Roy knows a whole slew of guides on the lake too if you want to hire one out.

| Huddles is great. I have stayed there. THere is a place next store (more or less) Called Trappers Landing which is more upscale but not too expensive. THe place I go to more often than the others is any of the Anderson Resorts (there are 5 spread out over the lake). I stay at Horsehoe Bay Lodge the most. They run a great resort too. Lot's of good options. |

2Nd Huddles Resort. We styed there in Oct just before they closed up for the season and had a great time. First time I had ever fished or stayed on Leech
Roy and his staff were awesome. What ever species of fish I wanted to know about they had all the answers and I never had to travel far to get started. SOme great musky fishing just out of there cove and to the left maybe 150 yds. Walleyes were sitting right out in front of there place.
Was a great 4 night stay there

Location: Iowa | Sugar Point Resort is on the east side of the big lake. I've never stayed there but its about 1.5 miles from my familys cabin. We go over there usually if need anything in a pinch. It is always clean, looks pretty nice and the owners are pretty nice. The drawback is when the if the wind is very strong from the western half of the compass, it can be pretty fun getting across the lake.

Location: Ames, Iowa | Huddles is a complete resort and what is nice is that its location gets you out of the wind if its from the south as you have a lot of the south shore to fish. You'd also be close to Pelican Island which has many muskie hotspots and the Pipe Island area too.
If you want to stay on the main basin it's a good idea. |

| Bailey's Resort in Kabekona Bay - beautiful location, family owned.
Moonlight Bay Resort - never get blown off the lake - nice pool for the kids - family owned.
