| Hi...
Going to fishing on a flowage where the water is very dark this week. (Lots of tannic stain) Hoping to use some Suckers in addition to noisier lures, but with Muskies being sight feeders, I'm not sure if they'll have much luch locating them unless they happen to swim by within 2-3 feet. Anybody know of something to add onto the leader to increase the visibility of the rig?

Location: Nekoosa, WI and South Padre Island, TX | No need my friend. Muskies not only feed by sight but through their lateral line as well, if not the majority of the time. I once caught a muskie that was blind in BOTH eyes, and have caught quite a few that were blind in one eye. I have caught many many muskies on black baits like Suicks in flowage water so dark that you could not see your fingers when you stuck your hand in the water to your elbow. So in short, don't worry about the muskies not being able to see your bait. Even if they dont see it, they WILL feel it! Good Luck!! |

Location: Barrington, Il | Agree with Jason but something I do is put a couple of orange or chartruese beads on the leader. And don't forget a tail gunner in bright colors. |

Location: Northern Wisconsin | I fish a very muddy and algae filled river (fox in Illinois), I used to wonder how fish could ever find food lol but they do...I have had action on the same lures that work in clear lakes so I agree with the above posts. |

Location: oswego, il | Muskies that live in murky water are conditioned to find food and live in that environment. It's not as if they had 10ft of visibility and it went away. They are not hampered by it. |

Many of the fox river muskies come from the fox chain or shabbona, certainly much better visibility than the river. Also, in the winter there is 6' visibility in the river and once summer hits its down to <6". |
