Posts: 716 | Kind of sad/funny actually ...in a way I posted an extensive article on release technique on the Star and Trib website just before the opener and it got zero comments, responses, eyebrow raises..nothing. So here is how the website there works: There are a number of "prostaff" guys and a larger number of "field reporters" and we simply write when and what we feel is appropriate as we see fit...most of the guys are pretty sharp on their outdoor stuff and there is good info there...both for beginners and experts alike, it just varies as it is put up. But sometimes there is something there that REALLY makes no sense...at least to me...at least today. So having the power of the pen invested unto me and wanting to make sure the real info gets to nice outdoor folk I put up a different view and Travis's post about how tough we are kicked the bad stuff off the front page...all is good in the world again. http://www.startribune.com/sports/outdoors/blogs/96352279.html?elr=...

Posts: 17 | Well put! It's all perspective and too often it's not on the level. Oil spill will kill more wildlife in one year than all musky catches in 100 years! Thank you for submitting the rebuttal.

Posts: 697 Location: Minnetonka | Thank you, Robert. Everyone can always use a little reinforcement... love the crappie aspect you threw in there. I have seen some questionable stuff in the Star Trib's photo gallery in the past, i.e. 45" Minnetonka Muskies HANGING FROM BOAT CLEATS AT THE BP STATION on 101 and Minnetonka Blvd. "Yeaaap, awwl in a day's wurk... gawt meez a muskie... oooo sawwwn!" Bob, nice work on flexing your power of the pen and reminding us how it's supposed to be done.
