| Last night I spent some time fishing the slop for bucket mouths with a neighbor who is a bass tourney boy. It was intersting to see some of his techniques. I learned some things that might apply to my arsenal for muskie fishing. What was most intersting however was listening to what they worry about in their world vs. what we are concerned about with muskies.
Apparently they believe that if you hook a bass in the little thing that looks like a tongue that the fish will die. He said this is not some B.S. little theory based on what him and his friends have seen. He said that it is widely believed throughout the bass tourney circuit. He said they hooked one last weekend in the tongue and it was dead within 15 minutes.
Does anyone buy into this theory? Does it also apply to the Esox species? |

First of all, you have no arsenal. I have fished with you and have first hand knowledge of that fact! Second, don't believe a Bass guy. He will corrupt your mind, not that it isn't already a little twisted. Lastly, two words, DRAIN PLUG! Good luck this weekend on Web. I think I see a black cloud forming over your boat. |

But seriously this year has been the year of the black cloud. I don't need any more of your "support" dude. Keep it up and I'll get a voodoo (pun intended) doll and start wishing broken nets, backlashes, tire blowouts (he he he) and lightning on you! I guess it can't get any worse after standing up to my nipples in muck trying to get my drain plug back in last night [:blackeye:] However I do feel a little better when I get an image of you sitting on a bucktail and having to ask your wife to pull it out with a pliers. LOL[:p] Keep it coming, you've got some skeletons too bub.

This guy was as serious as a heart attack and offered to show it to me in writing in a recent BASS magazine article. Keep in mind, it wasn't too long ago that if you told a muskie fisherman that a 6/0 hook did NOT just melt away in a muskies stomach, he's laugh you off the lake.

| I have caught hundreds of bass and have hooked them every which way imaginable. What could you damage by hooking the fish there? No organs or blood vessels. Maybe if you leave the hook there. Sounds like a fairy tale to me. Lunchie you fishing with faries again?[;)] |
