| I would replace the guide altogether but super glue/5 min epoxy may work for a while. Replacing one is easy - google it, would cost 20 bucks with epoxy coat kit and take an hour of work tops.

Location: Smith Creek | you can try to use 2 part epoxy but make sure your inner rings are free of any debris or residue that your line could catch on.
but generally once the alconite/alum oxide ring pops out the guide is shot and needs replacement. You got a $400 rod, just replace the guide already! |

Location: South-Central VA | When and if you replace the guide, use guide finish epoxy. Using a regulare 2 part epoxy on a guide wrap will not last long. It's not made for that purpose and it will not flex like guide finish epoxy

Location: Smith Creek | True, I meant to secure the ring in the guide frame, which, again, is only a temporary fix. Use Flex Coat to seal and protect the threads after new guide is tied on. |

Location: oswego, il | I had a a guide insert pop out on my avid 3 years ago. I put jb weld on it and it's been fine ever since. As a poster said above, make sure you do not get any on the inside of the guide or where the line may com in contact. |

| thanks for the input...i went with the two part epoxy as a temporary fix. i used a toothpick and super sparingly coated both sides of the insert / guide frame seam. it's solid and if you didn't know it was there you wouldn't see it. actually it may not be a bad idea to do it to all of the guides to hopefully prevent them from popping out due to a jolt or whatever... |
