Both reels same price... Which one would you buy?

this reel will be used on a 7'6" rod mostly for bucktails, jerkbaits (general purpose)

i searched the forum and didn't find much on either reel. the big talk these days it seems is the large trolling reels and the toro.

I run an AC300 and I love it. Smooth can run anything. I have tried the 400b for half a day or so and is good too. I personally would choose a 300.

I really like the 400b calcutta very smooth and are tough you can get a power handle for them for easier running of dbl10 and other big blades

I just switched out all my 400B's for the AC300 and the Luna (same reel). I think they are better reels for the money. The calcutta's are good but the AC300 are better for the same money. The only calcutta I will buy is a TE.

400B! Drag is better, and no worries about the anti-reverse going out.

St. Croix does have good customer service though. Haven’t had to use Shimano’s Customer service yet to report how it is.
