| What model of plano tackle compartments do some of you guys use to store large rubber baits in? I'd rather not buy a new tackle box yet, so I need a cheap option for the few I have. Suggestions would be great.

Location: East TN | I made my own musky box awhile back using a discount walmart tackle bag and some 2"x3" vinyl downspout. I am really happy with how it turned out, and its still doing its job well. If you can find a cheap bag to use that would be tall enough to house those pounders, you may be able to utilize what I did. I can fit about 30 baits in this box, but with the pounders i'd say you would probably take up a single "tube" with one bait...but that would still give you 15. All in all i've probably got about 20-25 bucks in this bag(15 for the bag, 5-10 for everything else)....I posted it on the site when I made it....heres the link....

| I opted out of the down spout and got a PVC post cover. You can get them at Home depot. An 8' section is about $25 but they are heavy duty and have an I.D. of 4". Between that and a milk crate I am pretty well set. I have decided to cut a couple more off of my remaining piece and I am going to attach them to my boat so I have exposed hanging storage that I can throw a few baits in to keep them off the floor and out of my hyde.

Location: Kodiak, AK | OK, on a serious note, I've got the downspout method employed in one compartment in my boat. I think the total investment in that was $14 at Home Depot. I also have a Just Encase in my boat as well with slots large enough to hold the Pounders as well. |
