Location: Ames, Iowa | After trimming up a bit to highest speed I then have to trim back down to reduce the porpoise effect. Single console 16 ft Sylvan. I get porpoise at highest speed no matter the trim. I have only looked at various products in the Cabelas catalog. Any products out there that improve performance?
Thanks,
Don |

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | doel fin.....it's absolutely the best. It is designed after an airplane wing. Aero engineers don't design planes out of blocks of wood like some other hydrofoils out there. |

Location: Southern Ontario, Detroit River and Lake StClair | Most common cause of porpoising at high speed is because of too much weight in the stern of the boat from either the motor, gear or batteries. A Doel -Fin will deffinantly help but they are not always a cure all if it's a hull problem.
Good Luck

Location: Ames, Iowa | Added an extra trolling battery in the back of the boat after I bought it, making 3 size 27 batteries total. With a full 10 gal tank there does look to be a lot of stern weight there. Will check out the Doel-fin.
Thanks.

Location: Iowa Great Lakes | Mine did the same thing after moving my batteries to the rear. Put my 2 anchors in the front box and solved the issue. I had a bad experience with a foil so won't own another. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Shift some weight to the bow, and if absolutely necessary, instead of a foil add 6" trim tabs to the transom. |
