Posts: 388 | 8" thru-wire Maple Glider This one is a sequal to the Nuclear Walleye... Mixed some stock paints for this one. Base is a combo of Flo Yellow, and Flo Sunburst. Green scale is a combo of Pearl Green, and Pearl Lime. Pearl White belly, and Pearl Gold fine scale. Green on orange often does not work very well so I ended up mixing the Flo Yellow to help with that. Also put the Pearl white down on the base first before hitting with the green to help with that. Also put up a video to show the action. Video quality is not very good but you can see how the lure runs.

Posts: 388 | Thanks guys. As far as amount of weight, I am not sure. Don't have a good scale here at home to check it and I am a poor estimator of mass. I would say it is a little lighter than the large Dunwright Dancer so it has some heft to it being that it is made from 1" thick maple. As far as sinkers, this design actually started that way. The walleye pictured in my avatar is a countdown. My first prototype of this design ended up neutral bouyant and I used it more than the others last year for fishing over submerged weeds so I made a batch of "barely bouyant" lures this spring. The near neutral bouyancy tends to give it a nice shimmy on the pause cause it is tryign to decide whether to go up or down. Edited by Yake Bait 4/12/2009 5:15 PM | ||
