Is it legal to bring muskies in from MN to stock in a private pond in Michigan? I've heard this is illegal in WI due to VHS. Can someone clarify this.
Thanks.

http://www.michigan.gov/documents/dnr/understandign_vhs_rules_23888...

It doesn't make any reference to private waters, so you might be ok there, but I believe its illegal to transport live fish across state lines.

It's also illegal to transport live game fish in WI, which is kinda in your way if you drive from MN to MI.

I would contact some of the dealers that sell muskies ie Calepps or Minn. Musky Farm. I'm sure they are aware of the regulations and can provide insight as to what you need to do.

One of the guys in my MI chapter here in Michigan got some MN fish not too long ago. You can search for him on here, or send him an email. His screen name is Kingfisher. (The Talonz lure maker) Email is: [email protected] I'm sure he'd be glad to answer you questions.
