2009 Lund WC 16 DLX Hey guys, I've been searching for boats. I'll be a first time owner and there's so many boats out there.. its a stressful process. I know Lund boats are very respected and as a first boat I believe this is a great one. There is a 2009 model for sale and they are asking $5,500. I want to know (especially with this economy) how much I can expect to get that to be lower. The price is for the boat and trailer. Meaning I would need a 15-20 HP motor, a nice trolling motor, batteries, spare tire, electronics.. - we're talking a lot of money here.. it all adds up. I would love to be able to buy the boat for 3,500-4000 and get a used motor somewhere. Any tips on haggling, the overprice-ness of new boats, etc would be great Thanks guys

They're all over MN and WI. My Dad bought an older 16' Pike with a 50 Merc and TM for $3500 a few years ago, and then just this past summer bought a 16' Pro V with (I think) a 75, trolling motor, and Lowrance X 15 for (again, I think) $7,000, and it's a newer model. Buy used. You can get ALOT more boat, still get a great boat, and not have to suffer depreciation, and then still outfit the thing. I understand if you're picky about electronics and TM's. I am. But shop around this winter and wait till you find what you want. Lund's are all over the place. Buy used.

Posts: 1663 Location: Kodiak, AK | musky punch, buy used. I just went and looked at Lund's site. You can get ALOT more boat buying used. The WC's are fine hulls, but man, they're hulls with seats in them. They don't even have floorboards. Don't short change yourself just to get an '09 hull. Plus, I think there's alot of romance in a vintage Lund. Here's what I found on the first page of a search on a boat selling web site. I won't link to the site from here, but it's an '05 for $7,000 set up and ready to go. Just an example. Actually would you send that link to me, I see it's a PA boat and that is where I'm at... Just curious. I'm more of a fan of the tiller style, but its a nice looking boat. [email protected]
