| I havn't been on Pewaukee yet this year, and I know it's the fourth and it will be nuts, AND I can't head up north this weekend. Thinking about trying the local pond. (Hoping for rain and or wind to keep our friendly jetskiers etc on land)
How's it been this year? Sure havn't heard much. |

| Its not been the hottest thing going thats for sure. With the crazy weather off Lake Michigan its made things a little on the tougher side at times. Exsample, I love water temps in the mid to high sixtys. This spring we had 55 degree temps one friday in early June and then it was 72 by Sunday. I thought the lake was going to boil over at that pace.
Weed growth started out three weeks behind and most of the fish went out to deep water in early May.
I have been working spots very slow and picking the milfoil apart, seems to be my best pattern and its paid off. The fish are there, they just dont have the spit and vinager to hammer baits like most years.
Hopefully this fall they will crack the whip and eat like pigs.

| Well,
Jason Smith and myself did our annual 4 of July morning musky hunt out on Pewaukee today. This has typically been a great time to catch them trolling out there in years past.
Unfortunately this morning the muskies just didn't want to cooperate. The screen on the LCR looked great with lots of bait fish and larger hooks around them, but no takers.
I think we would have done better if Jason left the video camera at home, I thing the muskies were camera shy! |

| Its all Bill's fault, we should have used my boat. But no he wanted to use his boat. LOL..[]
Yes I should have left the video camera at home, cant say I have ever done well with it in the boat.

| My Client lost a big fish in the mid to high fortys on Thursday. On Friday I had a tripple header with the biggest a 41.5".
I think I might be on to something!!!

| A big fish was popped on Pewaukee on Saturday morning. I have to work one Saturday morning a month for four hours, so I missed the chance at a big fish on the feed. The fish was caught by an older gentlemen and was brought into Smokeys bait shop. It was 53" 40lbs and it is going to spend the rest of its life on his wall.
Thats the 2nd 40lber caught in the last 4 years on Pewaukee.
One a side note:
Budwiser put 30 tagged Walleyes in thirty lakes in the midwest. Pewaukee recieved one of those walleyes. The fish are tagged and are worth either $1000 or $1,000,000. All the walleyes are between 16" and 18" that were tagged. Last night I caught a 18" Walleye and when I saw it come up to the boat, I grabbed my net quickly, to bad it was not tagged.[:((] You have only until the end of July to catch these walleyes and collect the prizes. |
