Location: Racine, Wi | Hey, has anyone out there built an extention for their fish hawk? It could even be for a 1650 or 1850. My legs are usually killing me after guiding, or even when fishing with friends as I'm fishing off the back of the boat. The room isn't that bad, but some extra room to spread out (especially when it's a tad choppy on the water) would be nice.
When it comes to constructing these things I'm not the worlds best carpenter. Any examples out there or ideas on what I would need to do to make an extention? I would think a foot or a foot and a half would be a sufficient extention. |

| you need to make a "Fishing Pad" to stand on.
I have one that a friend made me and I wouldn't go fishing without it. It is made of two layers of blue camping foam and a rubber welcome mat.
If you run a power drive or a terrova, it also equals out each foot and no longer make you have any back pain.
They are amazing...

Location: davis,IL | This is the deck I made for my 1750. You will need a 4x4x3/4" marine plywood sheet, 2- 2"x2"x6' x1/8" wall aluminum angle, 1-1" x4' round aluminum tube, 2- cane or crutch ends, and some bolts and carpet.

Location: davis,IL | I fogot to mention that there is also a 1"x1" aluminum angle riveted into the boat at each side to support the corners. I have been asked what model of Fish Hawk I have to come with an extended deck, got some suprised looks when I told them it was home made. I've since made one for a buddy of mine, he has an '05, mine is an '03.

Thanks for the pad idea as well. That sounds like it would help alot. I do run a power drive. |
