Hello:

I own 4 Bulldawgs, 3 have a solid wire that only bends on fish or really tuggin on it. 1 has a {7 strand?} or flexable wire that bends on every dawg ball. Is it unsafe to use one or the other of these? Why the differance?

I have sold all my 7 strand dawgs, as they break, the crimps fail.

I wouldn't use the 7 strand one.

I agree w/ Mike about not trusting the 7 stranders...and I don't even think you should sell them as that won't cure the problem...just use them for parts...tails, hooks etc...they will break.

I'll use the rubber for fix its on my other dawgs. I could use the tail already on another one.

Thanks for the help

Oh, and some of the straight wire models have an open ended wire( no twist) in the back for a hook hanger. Found that one out when I had a fish pull the wire out the belly and pull the rear hook and splitring off, fortunately in the net.

I think putting the second split ring on by the hook was to address the hook hanger wire problem. I have done this on a few that looked like the may be problematic. The second split ring lays flat ( it is not opened at the ring at all) and goes over the hanger before the regular ring and hook is attached. In other words flip your dog over take off teh split ring and hook with the hanger there, put another ring over the hanger then attach the hardware. If I had a picture I would post it. Anyone got one available?
Hope this helps
KJ
