| I am interested in going on a trip to St. Claire in July and was hoping some of you guys here on the board could provide some helpful info. We are looking at the Bell River area. Lodging, fishing methods ( I know trolling is hot, but would also like to do some casting. Any good maps of the fishing area etc. I just want to purchase a hand full of trolling baits, so tips on colors, brands etc would be greatly appreciated. ANY AND ALL help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all who can help in advance.

| send me a pm before you go, that is the time of year we have gone up the last 2 years. Get some mordas minnows, wileys & shayla shads in a bunch of different natural colors, find the bait - you'll find the muskies. If it's not working, keep changing colors every 1/2 hour until something hits. A very strange lake for first timers to get used to. But a fun challenge. There really are no "spots" just find areas with the least amount of floating weeds and try to find the edge of the clean water/dirty water and go. It will move every day.

PS You will know you found a hot pack of fish if by the time you a release a fish 6 BIG boats have moved in on your way-point (with their boards 100' out on each side) and circle your waypont in such a way that you cannot get back to it. Wait until after 1-2pm and go back to it, they will all be calling it a day and be going in to drink.

| Check out the new Esox Angler, there is a pretty good article about St. Clair in there. |
