| I fished Vineland bay's weeds and saw 3 fish, however 2 may have been northerns. The one musky I got a good look at had her nose on my bucktail the whole retrieve, even as I changed directions and went into the figure 8. I'd guess it was a 40" fish. I was using a large buchertail with 2 trebles at that time, sunset in color. I threw nearly every bait I had yesterday with no hits. Hope you have better luck on the north end. Vineland's water temps were 59 in the morning and I think I saw 62-63 in the afternoon. I should've fished walleye since those were biting like crazy- big ones too. |

Location: sauk rapids, mn | thanks! We are going to start on the north end if wind cooperates. If not, we would land in Wakhon and fish there first, then move to cove, and vineland. do you fish the north end much? I have only been there twice and I am not sure if I am looking in the right areas. I try to look for the patches of weeds and the subtle breaks. |

| No, never been up there. We stayed at Eddy's since it was the only place with an available room I could find. With the wind coming in from the east we stayed close to Eddy's and just fished Vineland and some rock reefs. Nothing seen on rocks though. There were maybe 6 other boats casting in Vineland and other than a couple northern, I didn't see a musky caught. Bring a walleye rod if you're gonna be there for a few days! |

| I fish muskies up on the North End Frequently, just not this early, usually later June and July. You can try the Wealthwood area, there is a weedline that runs for quite awhile, just find the 15 foot mark and your about on it. You can go basically from a couple miles west of the Wealthwood access to the RedDoor area to find them. If it's windy good luck it can be very tough. unlike the southern end.
let me know how you do |

| One more thing no5holeclint, if you do plan on hitting the north end, make sure you check the access reports, end of last year, I was unable to get at any of the public access points, had to pay a resort.

Location: sauk rapids, mn | Thanks for your input! We went today, and we landed at the north garrison access. I had a musky on for a short time, basically a strike and hook set and felt it for a second and gone. I was using a slidin shad from musky magic tackle. that wasbetween the west and eastmyr mar reef in about 10 feet of water. Then later my friend had a fish on that we never saw, but he said it felt heavy, and he could not get it to come up. He had it on for at least a full minute. You could see it in his rod, that it was really fighting. that fish was in front of Knox point in 8 feet of water. My friend is a guide in wisconsin, and he said if he was fishing mille lacs, he would lean towards the north end because the water would be warmer than in the bays. I usually fish Wakhon, cove and vineland. Any other suggestions? i am new to mille lacs. Last year was my first season spending time there. So i could use help! Thanks again! Clint |
