Location: north central wisconsin | I will be looking for a quality cover for my 690 soon, and do like how the strap systems on the Ranger covers seem to work. I would like to have someone in WI make this cover for me if possible and would like recomendations on some of the quality canvas guys some of you might have worked with(pics would be a bonus!). I would think about having the cover made with the front that extends well down the bow and hull to prevent road stone chips as well. Any tips would be greatly appreciated both in a manufacturer as stated, and also in style(rope ties vs strap, types of canvas to us/stay away from etc.

Location: Minneapolis, MN | Just a suggestion but rather than having someone try to figure out how to make it just right, why not just order it from Ranger? They have the templates and you can be sure it will be a tight fit the way you want it without having to give up your boat for any period of time.
I had a custom cover from Aurora, widely thought of as the best in the bass boat world. It was a nice design but it was made from Sunbrella material. Sunbrella is nice and light and fairly durable but it doesn't stay waterproof for very long, especially if it spends any time in the sun. I had to spray it every season with 303 after the second year. It took nearly 2/3 of a gal. to do it and a gal. costs approx. $80. The fabric Ranger uses is the lightest I've seen but there is a comparable fabric that is much heavier available from the local shops called Top Gun. I would pick this stuff if I had to source locally.

Location: Hayward, WI | IMHO the covers that Ranger make are hard to beat. They fit tight, easy to install and you do not have to mess around with any poles or supports. |

Location: north central wisconsin | The only issue I have with Ranger making it, is that there are several 'add-ons' around the boat that the cover will need to fit and be reinforced for. There are a few of the little spring loaded rope thingys, ram mount up front, wave whacker frames in back. I just sort of thought I'd be better of taking it in where they can fit the thing specifically for my rig. I will check into Ranger cover pricing though, and thanks for the tip.

Location: Minneapolis, MN | If you call directly to the Ranger factory and talk to the cover department they can probably accomodate your add-on's. I talked to them a couple weeks ago about reworking my cover for a different trolling motor and they said it would be no problem. |
