Leaving Monday Night For Northern Minnisota Todays High 80 Tuesday low 24. What Do You Think This Major Temp Drop Will Do To The Fishing. Do You Think It Will Make Them Put The Feed Bags On Or Totaly Shut Them Down, & Thursday Is The New Moon.

Thank You For Your Help

fish were going after a cold front last week up until the sun came out..if it's cloudy and post frontal be on the water..once the sun comes they might get lock jaw but you will still have your shots if you are on the water on good spots at the right time...don't overlook staying out into the darkness post frontal...fish will be caught...

Nice storms rolling in tonight! See you all on the water. Taking a half day to get a good start on Waconia! Let that wind rip!

I like the first day of the cold front. The days after will be tough if it stays cold but keep working fish can be caught. Try trolling 7 1/2" grandmas at 2-3 MPH over deep breaks.

If regular baits don't move fish, maybe play it much smaller and lots slower. If many of the last active fish were holding on the edge of wind-blown drops, which they were, and things shut down, figure where they are sitting now and drop some jig/creatures on the spots on spots and play it slow. Sit on top and make 'em bite. Can you use 6" pike sucker minnows where you are fishing? Do the dangle in deep weed pockets on outside edges. Maybe get a few nice walleyes to eat while you're working this approach, who knows.

My first jig/creature rod is custom-made with 30# powerpro on an oh-so-cute Abu 4500, and a, what, 20# sevenstrand leader? The other light rod is a spincast with 17# mono.

In both cases the leader is really light braided wire that's crimped right to the jig. Use Berkley "smell good" rubber. Drags set to play a big fish right. Crank up the gain on your finder and use the trolling motor to hold you right in place.

Just a suggestion. Never worked for me but dang it sounds right don't it?

Here's my second suggestion...if the fish are not moving on the lake head to the nearest good river. They say river fish are less affected by fronts.

I agree with Brad....insure you are fishing late. In addition to fishing late, back off of structure a cast or two, and fish the "warmer" water, less affected by the cold. They are going to move, and this is the chance at a true HEAVY!!

Just my 2 cents worth....or 2.23 cents worth Canadian!
