I am getting a new 75 4 stroke merc and was wondering what the required break in schedule is going to look like?? I tried there web page but it wasn't listed??

Total time? RPM rates etc.

Thanks!

Cory, for some reason 20 hrs at 2500 rpm's rings a bell but don't hold me to that.

Cory,

You bringing it to the Cave next month? Let me drive it for the week. I'll break it. I mean, break it in.[]

I'll call my trusted Merc friend and find out for you.

Congrats on the new boat.

I'll be in touch.

I'm running a 2002 Merc 4-stroke. I was told you can run the throttle to full speed, but only for brief periods. Very your throttle settings and avoid a constant speed for any extended period. This is for the first 20 hours of operation.

Second what Matt had to say.

Thanks guys! So from what Matt says it doesn't seem to be to strict. I will get the 20 hours out of the way in April so she is good to go for May!~

New boat is not making the trip to the Cave. Scotty Jenkins will be my boat man! I didn't want to put it up on a stump like Scotty did last year.....

The book on my Merc 225 also speaks to mixing in some oil with the gas for the first tank (mine is oil-injected); don't know if that is needed on yours or not. Did you call your dealer? m
