Posts: 2361 | Looking at making a trip down there and digging up some stuff on the net and of course, my trusty East TN fishing maps. Southern reservoirs are if nothing else dynamic, Melton HIll is Riverine Has cold water coming in, Has a draw of 14,000 cubes currently, for couple hours at a time(that is suction) Has pelagic school predators + shad +alewives(all good eating) In spite of being riverine it appears fairly flat on the contour maps 43 miles long( I will need to borrow your boat Mikie) Has warm water discharge. I read that fish at times get out of the main body to avoid the cold water. Weeds available but in decline. Brush attractors being placed. Wonder where you set the drag at down there? Set it for muskie and a big striper will take the rod away. Falling temps? in this already cold water fishery??

Posts: 73 Location: Hazard KY | Melton hill is cooling rapidly with the rapid discharge from noris the fish are still on aearly fall bite in the backs of coves and small flats. white spinners are good. the fish will start migrating in the next few weeks if the water temps drop 10 or more degrees but it looks like more worm weather for the next week any way. main lake temps are still upper 60's river rimps around clinton are 52 and the water is gin clear. Good luck Chris Haley Buckhorn Guide service 606-438-3773
