Fished Big Arbor Vitae and an Oneida County Lake on Friday, no follows and only one blow-up on a Weagle just before dark. Felt good to finally get out.

Derek, glad you finally made it out. Good to have you back on the water. How did you hold up?

Can't wait to fish with you this week.

I put in twelve unproductive hours on the water and felt like I could go even more.

I just got back from Wabigoon for the week.
I caught a 4# 20" smallmouth bass on a 8" bucktail, a million northerns, and a personal best 48" 31# muskie. My partner caught a 53" 40# muskie 45 minutes after mine. It was his personal best as well. I will be trying to figure out how to get a picture through my dial up connection to the MuskieFirst site. It was an unbelievable week!

Nice fish Eric,

Your Sat was a lot better than mine. I fished for 5 Hours Sat morning and got totally blanked. But Sunday night was much better. I got my first fish of the yr 38" on a bucktail. Lost another musky about the same size and had 5-6 follows on a Hayward area lake.

Mauser came up Thursday and spent the afternoon at my house digging out my small (dry) creek with a backhoe. The Storms of Ivan last year left behind much debris and rocks so the hoe did a great job getting the channel clear.
For Friday, we spent the day on the Little Kanawah River near Elizabeth, WV. The water was up a foot and muddy from some sudden storms the past few days. Something stopped our baits but it was impossible to tell what. A long day on a real nice river.
Saturday we went back to Woodrum Lake, WV. As is becomming a tradition there, I hooked a nice bass on a Mepps Maribou. I raised one 30's class muskie on my Muskie Treats, it hit just as the bait was coming out of the water. I had to work real hard not to catch that one. Water conditions were clear to slightly stained, much better than the river. I muffed a cast and was bringing my bucktail in all bunched up on the leader. Of couse there was a muskie behind it! That's all we saw. m
