Just got back from LOTWs last night and wow am I impressed. We went for trophy Pike and we got a couple of dandy fish. In all honesty the fishing wasn't fast and furious, and we had alot of time to "socialize", but the lull's were worth the wait. How many times can you say you caught more mid 30's fish than mid 20's?

The slot works fellas. If it can work on LOTWs for pike it can work for Musky here. The MDNR has a 30-40" slot. You can take three fish, but only 1 can be 40 or larger.

We saw 2 fish over 40, one having over a 19" girth.

The slot for Pike is also in effect in NW Ontario, and seems to really work there, too. They allow 4, only one over 27.5" and under 36 or in that ballpark. The Pike fishing on the lakes I fish there is better than I can remember, and that's a long ways back.

I believe the slot for pike on the Ontario side of LOTW is 27.5"-36.4" with a limit of 4 and one over 36.4". That is from memory, but I think its correct.

I can just imagine how good that Pike fishing is going to get. The resort we stayed at is having thier after ice tourny in April....I'm thinking of it.
