Location: Holly, MI | Might make a trip to a wedding in August to Duluth. Is there any good numbers or good size lakes in the area? Maybe within a couple of hours drive from Duluth MN or Superior WI. Thanks for any help. It will be a long tow from SE Michigan if we drag a boat.
or..
How about some where that rents small boats or where I can at least do some casting from shore. |

Location: Metro, MN | Island Lake, just NW of Duluth. I don't know much more. Also, they are in the St. Louis River. |

Location: Indianapolis, IN | Like Greg said there are indeed many great lakes within a 2 hr drive of Duluth! Cass Lake for one is only 140 mi from Duluth. I believe Lake Vermillion is also within a 2 hr drive. Many other not so famous lakes as well! Good luck with your choice! |

| The Hayward area is only an hour & 15min south of Superior, too. There are a couple lakes closer that are pretty good for skies. You can e-mail me. [email protected] |

| Amnicon & Lyman are very close to Superior. For small lakes, they hold good action/numbers. I wouldn't overlook the Eau Claire Chain and Namakagon either. All in Wisconsin. |
