I saw that one on eBay. I didn't know that Wiley made Jerkbaits. The wiley trolling baits are awesome. They run fast, thump hard and catch Muskies for sure.

The last couple of years only a limited amount of the 8" jerkbaits were made and when they were sold out you had to wait until the following year to get any. I was just on their website and they dont even show a jerkbait for this year, he may not be making them anymore.
Years ago they made a 5" jerkbait that I have 4 or 5 of that I like to throw in the spring.

I bought three of them about 5 years ago and trashed them as quickly as I bought them. They did nothing in the water. They weren't a chop bait like I thought that they would be, there was no good motion to them no matter what I did, they were lifeless in the water. I think that they are in the 5 gallon "pail of shame" in my basement. I expected something good from them because I really like their cranks. Maybe I should add lips to them.
Very disappointed.

Unlike Beaver, I really like the Wiley Jerk Bait. These baits are great for early season weeds and are productive during the summer months. The quick rise really gets the fish going when they want something that is quick, erratic and choppy.

There are times that these baits will produce over Suicks, Sledges, Bobbies, ect.....

Just like all baits, know when, where and how to use them, and they will produce.

Mike,
What size do you prefer and what kind of action do you try to give the bait?
