I'm looking for something like this for downsized lures and just to have as an extra rod for guests. It also comes in a heavy action but both say rated for 1-4 oz lures. Anyone have any favorite rods for such applications? Preferably $100 or under.

That's a 2 piece salmon rod...I guess I'd ask what do you plan to throw mainly? And what is downsized in your mind? 2-4 oz. is not really downsized IMO... If you want to throw 1-4 oz lures and it'll be bucktails/spinnerbaits at times get something like this Shimano : CPCM90HTJ - 9'0" H There's a number of decent options in the $150-$220 range...I wouldn't look too go cheap. Or maybe you can find a good used 9' for $100 ..I sold 3 of my extra TI's for $125/ea this year or I'd try to help ya out ![]()

Posts: 1269 Location: Walker, MN | My favorite down sizer muskie rod is a Dobyns Fury 806 swimbait. Swimbait rods are ideal because of the extra butt length. If you really want to stay around $100, try the Daiwa DX Swimbait Rod 8'H, it has a similar power and action.
