Posts: 172 Location: Chagrin Falls, Ohio | Hey everyone, I've been off the water for a while, but will be out for the rest of the season, back to my normal schedule, and posting reports. So I was out doing some scouting today on West Branch. The water is down about 2 to 3 feet from summer pool. Water temps at the surface were around 62 most everywhere. The water was stained to muddy. There was alot of activity in trasition areas from the main lake to the creeks and main lake coves. I have a feeling that alot of fish were already back in the creeks coves and moved out when they pulled some water. Many schools of shad were suspended over 1/2 way back in creek channels and off secondary points in deep water within about 10' of the surface, but it varied quite a bit. The weedbeds are starting to really die off, and at least today, the fish weren't in them at all, mostly suspended. With the water being down, and probably a bit of oxygen depletion, they just moved out. I think once the water stabilizes they will be moving back to deeper weed edges, using what they can. I'll be out most everyday this week, so I'll see if I can get on some fish and post anything I come up with. Good fishin', Tyler Campbell | ||

Posts: 229 Location: Willoughby, Ohio | Got a 38" this evening casting by the causeway. Orange firetiger jointed Grandma. I also heard that the fishing mgr at the Gander Mountain in Twinsburg got a 50" casting from the riprap on the causeway on Saturday. He was using a spinnerbait, fishing for bass! He did the right thing and released it. Water is down a few more feet from the other day. Temp around 58.5.
