Got a shot to get out this Wed (10/8). Debating on the Fox Chain or Silver. This will be my first chance around here since mid June. I have had luck at both in the past falls but have also been busted as well. Just trying to get comments to justify where we go.

Dave, was at Silver yesterday as noone was having luck on the Toilet bowl the prior weekend. Water temp was around 50 and the lake was as clear as an aquarium. There was not much wind most of the morning. We moved fish when the wind picked up, none caught and had 3 chasing suckers around but the muskies couldnt catch em.

good luck

Dave:

Slamr and I were out on Silver Sat morning until about noon. We saw two other boats get fish, length unknown. We had two fish up, one went around once, both were small. Not a sniff on meat. Water was 52 and that beautiful green indicating turnover.

Have you thought about going East instead of fishing local?

Thanks for the replies. Seems my partners wish to have a better shot at a bigger fish over more numbers so it looks like we will be hitting the Chain. I will let you know how we do (probably something like: We fished all the wrong spots and saw nothing, sort of thing)

I have never caught a fish on the fox chain after turnover. Seems to really drop off. Want to guess which one I would goto?

I have also had better luck on Silver in the fall and i would maybe be interested in going there too but i will be out voted. The chance for a bigger fish is at the Chain and that is the reason for the other 2 guys wanting to hit the Chain. Beggars cant be choosers and with the little amount of time i have had on the water this year i am just glad to be out there!!!!!

Seeing how our biggest fish on the chain had(yes had because I stopped fishing it) was 35" and a 34 and the rest 28-32(many) I have caught bigger on silver, along with my average size. Silver gets the summertime blues but I have always done better there.
