| Can anyone offer up some pointers for Lake Johanna in the metro, or even for tigers in general? The few times I've fished them I've not seem a thing. Threw showgirls and single blade small hair bucktails the other day and only caught 2 very small pike.
Should I be fishing the weed edge the same as pure strain?
I just moved nearish the lake so it would be great to find a little bit of action. Never caught a tiger either and I think they're one of the most beautiful freshwater fish. I just want a picture with one!

| I've fished that lake a few times and have had luck working the weed edge around the sunken island and the southern shoreline. Caught fish on spinnerbaits, Phantoms, Mantas, and Baby depth raiders. There are some pretty nice Pike in there as well. |

| If the lake gets a lot of boat traffic and the water is reasonably clear; try night fishing with a smaller size tail spin topwater. |

Your catching tiger's at night after its pitch dark,,not doubting you but this is rare for tigers

Location: Shoreview, MN | my go-to for this lake is a sucker colored baby depthraider. When not moving fish I start "bass" fishing - tigers readily slurp up a bass jig. Many also troll the open water. I will say this lake is very hot and cold, and there don't seem to be very high numbers in there. |

| Mr. Happy Hooker; I've caught 10 tigers so far this year and 8 have come at night on tailspin topwaters. I've caught well over a 100 in the dark almost all on topwaters, some lakes aren't good night tiger lakes, but high boat traffic or fishing pressure on relatively clear lakes usually indicates the potential to be a good night fishery. Tigers don't have as good of aim in the dark as purebred muskies but they do hit baits in the dark. Another key to catching tigers at night is to fish very shallow and parallel to shore. I'm usually wade fishing, wade as quiet as possible because the fish can be as shallow as under a foot of water. I've caught several tigers that jumped as they hit my topwater and landed on shore. A bare bank with a single bush or object by shore will often hold at least 1 tiger, sometimes a large tiger. My biggest tiger which is also my biggest night tiger hit in 3 feet of water and was 52 1/2" long, so it is not a small fish only technique. |
