Location: NeverNever Lake | E, I've never seen one in person but my guess would be an open cavity with a plunger of some sort. The cavity would be the easy part, get a drill and a chunk of aluminum stock and choose the bit size and start drilling. That will be the outside dimension. Next make a plunger and alow for whatever wall thickness you perfer. Make a jig so you can center the plunger and control depth. Or chuck the plunger in a drill press so you can center it up and control depth. Pour the goo into the cavity, lower plunger into place and let it cool. Trust me, for the price of certain muskie tubes I have considered this myself. I'm not sure if it would be worth doing small tubes one at a time but muskie size maybe. |

| Shape an appropriate piece of wood dowel. Heat your Plastisol (or product of choice) in an old pot. Dip the dowel and allow to cool, repeating until
the desired thickness is achieved. |

| Let's try that again. Del from www.del-mart.com is working on a tube mold. You could try asking him when it will be available. It seems like most of the guys on www.tackleunderground.com making softbaits are dipping rods(as suggested). You can search there for specific techniques.

Location: Appleton,WI | Im gonna try that plunger idea next week.Thats what i was thinking of doing right away but wasnt totally sure.I got a cool idea for a tube but thought id try asking first for a mold and then modifying that one. |
